Dubuque Arts Council

Every summer for the last 19 years, the Dubuque Arts Council has sponsored musical concerts at the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. Held on seven consecutive Sunday evenings, the concerts draw thousands of local music lovers, of all ages, to the beautiful surroundings for free entertainment.
From blues to country to big band; from local talent to top-notch regional and national performers, the Dubuque Arts Council is able to provide great family entertainment for the whole family, all for free to patrons.
Paul Hemmer, a local board member of the Arts Council, notes that, "We work within a budget to secure the best entertainment possible. We benefit from the kindness of donors, local business sponsors and many volunteers. We are so grateful to the DRA for their grant program. Without the help of the DRA, it would be difficult to bring in the caliber of performers we have. Our tickets are free, but this same level of performer would cost $15 to $40 per ticket in other cities. The DRA is a great supporter of the community."

Since 1989, the Dubuque Arts Council has received $119,121 in funding from the Dubuque Racing Association.
